Phil Healy Chicago

Phil Healy is a senior analyst in the financial services industry based in Chicago. He grew up in a household that blended two cultures: a Brazilian mother and an American father. This upbringing allowed him to speak English, French, and Portuguese fluently and interact seamlessly with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Phil attended the University of Notre Dame from 2014 to 2018, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a secondary major in French. At Notre Dame, he was deeply engaged in campus life. He worked with the university’s student radio station, WVFI (Voice of the Fighting Irish), volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, and participated in the Notre Dame squash club. These experiences enriched his college years and allowed him to develop valuable leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. After graduating, Phil continued his education at the Mendoza College of Business at Notre Dame, where he earned a Master’s degree in Accountancy, specializing in Tax Services. This advanced education further refined his accounting expertise and provided him with a solid understanding of tax law, preparing him for a successful career in finance. Phil began his professional journey in 2019 when he joined Deloitte Tax in Chicago as a tax consultant. At Deloitte, he specialized in multistate tax services, reviewing corporate and partnership state and local tax returns. His role required him to focus on multistate tax issues and navigate the complexities of state tax laws. Due to his exceptional performance, he was promoted to senior tax consultant in early 2021. He expanded his responsibilities in this role, including reviewing investor packages, estimated payments, and withholding taxes. He also oversaw engagement workflows, supervising tax consultants and interns and collaborating with client controllers and tax teams. His time at Deloitte gave him the technical knowledge and experience to advise clients on tax planning, compliance, and restructuring. In 2021, Phil transitioned to a role as a fund finance analyst at GCM Grosvenor, a private equity firm in Chicago. Here, he managed accounting ledgers for private equity funds and investment vehicles. His responsibilities included reviewing quarterly financial statements, managing capital calls and distributions, and reconciling cash flows. He worked closely with co-investment partners and internal teams, including legal, treasury, and tax management, to ensure that financial reporting was accurate and efficient. His time at GCM Grosvenor helped him develop a deeper understanding of private equity finance and enhanced his ability to navigate the complexities of financial reporting. In 2023, Phil moved to Invenergy LLC, a global leader in renewable energy, as a senior analyst specializing in international finance operations. At Invenergy, he prepared cash flow projections and budgets for renewable energy projects. He worked with local and global teams to manage financial variances and update forecasts. He also played an integral role in supporting deal structures, such as acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures, and managing internal financial transactions, including dividend payments and intercompany loans. Outside of his professional life, Phil is passionate about volunteering. He has contributed to several organizations, including Gilda’s Club of Chicago, the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, and the L’Arche Center, which supports individuals with intellectual disabilities. He is also involved with Brave Space Alliance, a Black trans-led LGBTQ+ center on Chicago’s South Side. Phil enjoys following sports in his free time, particularly the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks. He is also an avid musician, playing the piano and producing music.
